the weather was a little
chilly, but it only turned colder as the week continued. We traveled to Montana and found ourselves in rain and even snow a few days.
We spent two
days over in the Paradise Valley (just north of Yellowstone). We had
planned to take Skyler's
grandma's ashes up to Castle Rock, where Grandpa Arch's ashes
were buried, but the
weather would not allow the difficult climb. So we stayed at Chico (a rustic resort) and swam in the hot spring pool. The water was probably 95 degrees and the air temperature was about 50. Then we headed back to Buck (Skyler's brother) and Jami's house for 5 more days in Lolo, Montana (outside of Missoula). That is when we had the most rain and snow.
Elsie was delighted to be outside trying to catch snow flakes on her tongue. Jami and I went shopping and the guys tried to play Golf and Folf during breaks in the rain and snow. They came home wet most of the time. Then last Thursday we headed back to Spokane and Cheney. We were able to go horseback riding, fishing, boating, walking, shopping, and just hanging out with family and friends. Buck, Jami, Addy and Mayce were able to join us for the weekend along with one of my best friends Jessie and Mark and little James from Seattle. Our trip was great and we had second thoughts returning home, as it was 114 degrees stepping off the plane.
